Unior hand tools master kit for bicycle mechanics

The master kit from the Slovenian tool manufacturer Unior exclusively for traveling professional bicycle mechanics. Who needs a lockable, waterproof tool box on wheels for €1800 with 94 professional-level bicycle tools already inside. Literally just a professional bike mechanic out and about at Pro Tour or World Cup races.
But this is where you can spot just one of these. Unior supplies tools to several teams competing in the UCI MTB World Cup including Unior Sinter Factory Racing, Trek Factory, NS Bikes UR, Commencal Muc-Off, Continental Atherton and Canyon MTB Racing.

The kits are sold worldwide with blue Unior handles (since 1919) or in the US with red and orange handle tools to avoid confusion with a younger company.

Unior Master Kit but empty to fill with your own tools
Perhaps even more interesting in my opinion – as a reformed bike mechanic and now someone who just enjoys working with nice bike tools – the Master Kit box is also available separately for €540 so you can stock up on your own tools. You get the same rugged, waterproof, lockable, IP67 rated travel tool box on wheels with a telescoping handle to store with your own favorite tools.
The 58.5 x 36.1 x 23.8 cm box itself is made in France and then individually fitted out by Unior in Slovenia. It has two fold out arms with 44 pockets on the top and two sturdy metal trays with foam inlays that hang over each side of the box when placed on a mobile worktop plus another foam inlay in the base. Blank foam trays are also available separately to customize with your own tool palette.
The empty Master Kit box alone weighs 9.4kg and you can pre-order now for delivery at the end of May.
Master Kit Small Parts Organizer
The empty Unior Tool Master Kit doesn’t include the plastic small parts organizer box either, but don’t worry, you can now buy them separately for €31. And it is actually in stock and available immediately.
The 36.4 x 24.8 x 5 cm clear plastic box is divided internally into three long rows of compartments, but also includes 18 additional modular inserts to further divide it into up to 21 compartments.
What about Unior Home Kit toolboxes?
Still only available as a full setup, the smaller Home Kit combines a similarly robust but smaller toolbox with 34 core tools that Unior says should be a good start for the amateur bike mechanic’s kit – plus room for expansion.

Unior say they are making as many of the €330 home kits as they can to keep up with demand after the first two runs have sold out since we first saw them last year. Pre-order a tool kit now and you should have it in about 6 weeks, maybe a week or so earlier than a master kit.
